Gender equality, diversity and social inclusion

Antromeda is firmly committed to advancing gender equality and the rights and empowerment of women, girls, and gender-diverse people. We practice and promote non-discrimination and inclusion in all aspects of our work. This includes respect for and protection of the rights of all individuals, regardless of sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, or any other aspect of identity or experience. We support the full realization of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all and recognize these as fundamental to achieving justice, equity, and dignity. Our work is grounded in intersectional, rights-based approaches that challenge structural inequality and promote meaningful participation and accountability.

Safeguarding

Antromeda is deeply committed to the safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals we engage with — including colleagues, partners, clients, and participants in our work. We uphold a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, and discrimination. We recognize our ethical, moral, and legal responsibility to create and maintain safe, inclusive, and accessible environments, and we are committed to preventing harm, addressing power imbalances, and promoting a culture of respect, accountability, and care. Our safeguarding commitments apply across all locations and assignments, and are rooted in the core values of integrity, equity, inclusion, and solidarity. We actively work to ensure that these values are reflected not only in our policies but also in our daily practices, partnerships, and ways of working.

Child Protection

Antromeda is fully committed to upholding the rights, safety, and dignity of all children in line with international child protection principles and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. We ensure that all our services, activities, and operations are conducted in ways that safeguard children from harm, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Children are never engaged — whether through interviews, consultations, or participation — without their free, prior, and informed consent, as well as that of their parent or legal guardian. We take care to ensure that children’s participation is voluntary, safe, age-appropriate, and rooted in their best interests. Antromeda promotes a child-safe culture across all areas of work and holds itself and its partners accountable to the highest standards of child protection and ethical engagement.

Do No Harm and Conflict Sensitivity

Antromeda is committed to the principle of Do No Harm, ensuring that our work does not exacerbate existing inequalities or create unintended negative impacts — environmental, social, or economic. We prioritise the rights and well-being of those most at risk, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and Indigenous peoples. We integrate Conflict Sensitivity into all activities, aiming to remain at least conflict-neutral and, where possible, support efforts that address root causes of exclusion and tension through locally informed, inclusive approaches.
